about us

OVERVIEW

Founded in 1921 as a fresh air camp for less fortunate youths, The Salvation Army's Echo Grove Camp and Retreat Center draws from a rich history of helping kids of all ages experience the best of the outdoors. Located on Lakeville Lake near Oxford in North Oakland County, Echo Grove offers something for everyone. From swimming and boating to nature trails and adventure learning, Echo Grove is the perfect spot to unwind, refocus or learn new skills.

During the summer months, Echo Grove serves children and adults from Salvation Army community centers throughout Eastern Michigan. In the off season, the facility is available to rental groups with proceeds from rental fees going to support our core programming.

With a location that is close to home, accomodations that are up-to-date and flexible, and a sharp focus on customer satisfaction, Echo Grove is the outing and retreat destination of choice for hundreds of groups each year.

MISSION

Echo Grove is a great place to meet God in His great outdoors. Through relaxation, adventure and rich fellowship, we endeavor to bring all campers closer to Him.

VISION

Echo Grove will be a redemptive force in Eastern Michigan by offering excellent resources to Salvation Army units, to churches, to educational entities, organizations and area residents - centered on the Gospel of Jesus and capitalizing on the natural beauty of the setting and the creativity, talent and dedication of the Echo Grove team.
